HeadRec #3 - Sonru talks to Fiona O’Sullivan

It has been a wonderful Summer - counting the inclement weather on one hand and the new additions to the team on the other. Business wise we signed a Reseller Agreement with IrishJobs.ie, won 2 more awards and had a visit/mentoring session with Sean Gallagher of Dragons' Den fame.

Downturn forcing Recruitment Cost Upwards

We're on the road again. Wexford Chamber of Commerce in partnership with Wexford County Enterprise Board and the Irish Times are running, what they promise could be our most productive day this year, their first ever Wexford Business Exchange Expo on September 22nd 2010. Sonru Roadshow: Wexford Busiess Exchange Expo 2010

Sonru's Marketing and Communications manager, Joy Redmond, was featured in today's Irish Independent in an article about working from home and employer flexibility. It's no surprise that her obsession with the beach crept into the interview. She's a little embarassed about the size of the photograph among other things but was happy enough to go on the record and show her appreciation to Sonru for their flexibility.

Sonru’s Joy Redmond featured in Irish Independent

Sonru featured in a recent article entitled 'Testing Times' on pages 16-18 in the Summer edition of Onrec Magazine. The feature was all about screening and skills testing and how it has become so important now with the volume of applications being received, many of which are based internationally. The article discussed the popularity of a variety of different tests available to the hiring manager ranging from actual skills testing to personality type testing.

Make a good first impression and complete the interview by the closing date to demonstrate that you can complete tasks competently and are capable of working to certain deadlines.  Completing the video interview on time shows your interest in the role, for example a candidate that has to ask the interviewer to extend the closing date does not leave a good impression. So if you really want the job, pass this first test and you're already in with a better chance. Read on for some more tips and advice.
