Recruitment Buzz recently interviewed  Gavin Girling, the Human Resources Manager of, Sonru client, Perisher an Australian ski snow resort about his recent experience using Sonru's video interviewing technology.

Good news, one of our clients: Wm Morrisons Supermarkets plc got shortlisted in ‘the best use of video in a graduate recruitment campaign’ category of the Social Media (SOME) Graduate Recruitment Awards. Shortlisted for their pioneering use of Sonru in their graduate recruitment programmes, Wm Morrisons will compete against Ernst & Young, KPMG and Thales.

Earlier this year in May, we wrote a blog about a reception hosted by the US-Ireland Alliance to honor the 2012 class of George J. Mitchell Scholars and that applications were open for the 2013-2014 Mitchell Scholarship which funds a year of postgraduate study in Ireland or Northern Ireland. Last weekend the US-Ireland Alliance selected the 2014 class of George J. Mitchell Scholars and yes Sonru's video selection tool formed an integral part of the application process.

Having won the Best International "We'll conquer the world" award in September, Sonru then dedicated the award to super client CERN in Geneva - one of the world's largest and most respected centres for scientific research. Sonru's Group CEO Fergal O'Byrne and Founder Ed Hendrick later presented the award to Agnes Jakab of CERN's recruitment unit who was in town to take part in the Social Media @ HR Summit 2012 that same week.   

Following the success of the Master Class in London in February, Sonru and Nucleargraduates, a Times Top 100 Grad Employer,  are teaming up again to present at the AGR Summer Conference with a presentation entitled 'Handling Application Overload: Keeping your selection process in-house with smart technology.'

Sonru's Maiken O'Byrne attended a reception last week hosted by the US-Ireland Alliance to honor the 2012 class of George J. Mitchell Scholars. Applications are now open for the 2013-2014 Mitchell Scholarship which funds a year of postgraduate study in Ireland or Northern Ireland. Created in 2001, the Mitchell quickly became recognized as a highly competitive scholarship, vying with the more established Rhodes and Marshall Scholarships and this year,  Sonru's video interviewing solution will form an integral part of the application process.

Platypus Productions, a media production company based Cape Town, used Sonru to select three presenters in Johannesburg for the ‘Backpack, Budget or Bling’ project. Traditionally, they would have contracted a Johannesburg based casting company to perform the casting which needed to be on-camera to enable Platypus to find a ‘young, funky presenter’ who was comfortable on camera and could be spontaneous and ‘think on their feet’.
