We're on the road again spreading the video selection love, this time back in London at the CIPD's Recruitment Exhibition at the Olympia Conference & Exhibition Centre. We're also delighted to have been asked to give a presentation on Day 1 entitled 'Flipping the Funnel: using online video to assess culture fit first'.

Sonru was featured in Gartner's Market Guide for E-Recruitment Solutions (Published: 9 February 2012) under the heading  "Improving Interviewing and Assessment." The report discussed how unstructured interviews have proven themselves to be poor indicators of actual performance and then referred to the growth of video interviewing tools (such as Sonru) which can be integrated with ATS solutions such as Taleo.

Enniscorthy 13 March, 2011. Sonru today launched two short animations to explain the automated video interviewing process. The animations, which were produced by Igloo Animations, consist of an 'Overview of automated video interviewing' and a more specific 'How does it work?' and are targeted at HR directors, recruiters and hiring managers.

Sonru client CERN, one of the world's largest and most respected centres for scientific research, were featured in an article in this month's issue of The Grapevine magazine. James Purvis, CERN's Head of Recruitment, Programmes and Monitoring gave a compelling interview about their innovative recruitment practices.

Seth Godin, the godfather of permission marketing, has written over a dozen books that have been translated into more than thirty languages. According to his bio, he writes about the post-industrial revolution, the way ideas spread, marketing, quitting, leadership and most of all, changing everything. Seth is something of a hero in Sonru and most of us subscribe to his daily RSS feed. Today he wrote about skilled and unskilled labor, it's short and sweet like all his musings but it's reproduced below, interesting food for thought from Seth as always.

The Wall Street Journal published an article earlier in the week entitled 'Jobs Open, but Filling Them Slows Down' about recruiters' problems finding candidates for skilled positions and/or the prolonged hiring process. Then today I read with interest in Business & Leadership another article along the same lines entitled 'Recruitment difficulties facing Irish companies'. What's going on? Surely there's an abundance of ready talent waiting in the wings to apply to relevant jobs.
