The Sonru Blog: Recruitment 2013
Sonru are delighted to announce our sponsorship of the "Best use of video as part of your attraction campaign" category in the Graduate Recruitment Social Media (SoMe) Awards on Thursday 23rd January 2014. We've chosen to sponsor this award category because we're a video technology company focussed on the recruitment industry so sponsoring this category makes for an excellent fit.
At Sonru, we're all about candidate selection and spreading the news about how our award winning technology enables our clients to select the very best applicants to bring forward to the next stage of the recruitment process. We thought you might like this little piece of research we came across on Business Insider about personality types which might help you further in selecting the dream team.
Don Fornes, Founder & CEO of Software Advice had an inkling about some of the characteristics that made the highest-performing members of his team unique so he engaged an Austin-area psychiatrist, Dr. James Maynard, to help him better understand his team.
Along with Managing Editor Holly Regan, they identified the key personality traits of top-performing employees in each role and identified four distinct personality types:
- the Giver
- the Champ (and the Chip)
- the Matrix Thinker
- the Savant.

The Association of Graduate Recruiter (AGR) annual Summer Survey, published today, shows that leading UK employers are receiving 85 applications for each job. The outlook is no better as this summer's university leavers face a tougher jobs market, with a forecast of a 4% fall in graduate vacancies.
It doesn't have to be all doom and gloom though, let us show you how Sonru has helped many leading UK employers' graduate recruitment programmes to select the best candidates, improve their Assessment Centre pass rates, achieve economies of scale and feel overall happier with the results.
An OfficeTeam survey of 500 HR managers at U.S. companies with 20 or more employees found that more than six in 10 (63%) human resources (HR) managers interviewed said their company often conducts employment interviews via video.
The results of the 2013 Recruiting Channels survey by Software Advice has recently been published here on The New Talent Times. The findings indicate that, while employee referrals and traditional job boards are still the top choices for recruiters, social media is a growing presence. However, since Sonru is in the business of helping clients select the best candidates to bring forward for interview, there was one finding that really caught our attention.

We're on the road again spreading the video selection love, this time back in London at the CIPD's Recruitment Exhibition at the Olympia Conference & Exhibition Centre. We're also delighted to have been asked to give a presentation on Day 2 entitled 'A Recruitment Process Less Ordinary: WOW with online video interviewing'.
So Sonru has the Carlsberg effect by being identified as 'probably the leading provider based in the UK' in Metashift's recently published Video Interviewing Guide.
Not only were we ranked Number 1 provider but Sonru also came out on top as the most recognised provider in their survey which asked 'Which of the following video interviewing software providers have you heard of?'
There's even better news, friends of Sonru can get a 25% discount if you type the promo code SONRU on the online order form. Read the highlights.
