Asean, is the 10-country association of South East Asian nations, is hoping to create a single market by 2015, the Asean Economic Community (AEC) which will be the fifth most powerful trading bloc on the planet. The Spring edition of Enterprise Ireland's magazine The Market took a look at some of the lead economies, emerging opportunities and irish experiences doing business in the region and needless to say Sonru's operation in Singapore featured as a success story.
In his Weekly Wednesday Webinar, the onmipresent Johnny Campbell looked at how to streamline and automate parts of the recruitment and selection process where vast amounts of time is wasted, both for the Recruiter and the Candidate.
Sonru Asia Pacific CEO, Luke Falvey, was interviewed recently on Malaysia's BFM radio station in Tech Talk: Changing the Face of Interviews. Luke spoke about Sonru's origins, the early challenges, candidate feedback and examples of client usage. Listen or download the podcast.

Sonru was featured in Gartner's Market Guide for E-Recruitment Solutions (Published: 9 February 2012) under the heading "Improving Interviewing and Assessment." The report discussed how unstructured interviews have proven themselves to be poor indicators of actual performance and then referred to the growth of video interviewing tools (such as Sonru) which can be integrated with ATS solutions such as Taleo.
The blog article discussed how with the 'wealth of opportunities on offer, a growing number of Irish professionals have made Singapore their new home.' The article featured the recruitment market and interviewed companies and organisations such as Berkley Recruitment and Sonru Asia Pacific. Promising a vibrant Irish community we learned that societies such as the Irish Chamber of Commerce and the St Patrick’s Society of Singapore and Gaelic Lions GAA Club offered a welcome to the new Irish in Singapore.
