Entrepreneur and Dragons’ Den panelist Sean Gallagher visited online video technology company Sonru in their offices in the Enniscorthy Enterprise and Technology Centre this morning. Gallagher’s visit and 4 hour mentoring session with Sonru’s management team  formed part of the prize for winning the Bank of Ireland Bright Ideas National Final earlier this year. The prize also provided Sonru with €100k investment from the Bank of Ireland  Seed and Early Stage Equity Fund.

Edward Hendrick, Founder & Director of Product Development of Sonru commenting on the visit said ‘We're delighted to receive such high calibre mentoring and advice from such an entrepreneurial legend; Sean has been so enthusiastic about our product ever since we met him back in March this year.’

Serial entrepreneur Gallagher held two mentoring sessions with the company, first he worked with the sales and marketing team offering advice on exploiting the Irish diaspora to break into Middle Eastern markets before talking with Sonru’s CEO Fergal O’Byrne and Founder Edward Hendrick. Gallagher stated that “Sonru’s online video interview tool was one of the best products he’d come across in years” and added further that he “hadn’t been so excited about any other new product outside of medical innovation in the past three years”.

Sean Gallagher is not the only person raving about the local company as they’ve notched up four accolades in the past 3 months. Along with the Bank of Ireland Bright Ideas Challenge Grand Final held in the House of Lords, College Green, Dublin on March 3^rd ; they also won the Innovate!2010 Dublin Pitch Slam, hosted by Microsoft BizSpark and Enterprise Ireland on March 8^th ; iGAP Best of Breed Award at the iGAP Finals of high potential technology start-ups in April and more recently the Irish Internet Association Net Visionary Innovation Award in Dublin on May 20^th.  Fergal O’Byrne, CEO of Sonru added ‘Winning these awards is a tremendous validation of both our business model and our products.
