The Sonru Blog
Tapping into WIT students’ creative minds
Earlier in October, John Maher invited me to speak to the MBS class at Waterford Institute of Technology (W.I.T.). I spoke, they listened and as part of their final year examination they will present Sonru with a number of suggestions towards our overall strategy. This coming Thursday the students are due to present their ideas and I can't wait to see the results!
Some background: I met John Maher back in 2007/2008 when I was on the SEEPP enterprise development progamme working away on the early Sonru prototype. John made some excellent presentations to our group and he always came across hugely enthusiastic about starting new businesses in the South East of Ireland. So when John invited me to present our story to his current MBS class, I didn't hesitate.
I really enjoyed giving the presentation with some great interest from the students, some great questions. This Thursday coming 12 groups of 4 will present their ideas to me and John. I'm really excited about their findings, you can't beat having someone looking at your business from a fresh outsider point of view. I asked the students not to hold back, we're very open to their ideas so hopefully there will be some interesting ones.
After the presentations I might put some of the ideas up on our blog to get your reaction, any feedback you guys have we'll pass on to the students.
Thanks.
Ed
