Sonru Update November 2011

Features and Changes to the Sonru Application, November 2011

Over the past few months we have been reviewing the design and architecture of the Sonru Application based on discussions with users and candidates. Here is a short video with Sonru's User Experience Designer Cormac Kelly who explains some of the new features and changes which have been implemented based on this research.

So what's new?

Clean and Efficient User Interface
Improved Candidate Recording Experience
Full Screen Reviews
Sonru is now Multilingual

In this release we have concentrated on improving the usability of the application, the recording experience for candidates and the playback for viewers, including adding some brand new features, including full screen reviews, bulk actions on Interviews and language options. Highlights include:

A Clean and Efficient Sonru User Interface

Well we have completely refreshed the user interface and removed some areas like Dashboards and Messaging, which weren’t being used regularly, streamlining the workflow of the application. So when you first log in, instead of the old dashboard you are now taken directly to your Interviews area.   We have added tools for Account Owners and Interview Creators to perform bulk actions for example:

On the Interviews table you can now archive or delete multiple Interviews with one action:

It is now much easier to assign Candidates to Groups, or remove them from the Interview altogether within a specific interview:

Improved Candidate Recording Experience

The Candidate recording area has been redesigned, based on feedback from over 500 Candidates, for example:

  • The Candidate’s video preview is now smaller and is tucked away to the right of their screen, underneath the timer, enabling them to focus more on the questions.
  • Improved Practice Interviews by  including hints to guide them through the interface, and the timer has also been made a good bit bigger and clearer than in our previous version.

Full Screen Reviews

For Viewers we have added Full Screen Reviews, one of the most requested features during our discussions with users. We think you will find it useful if you are using a small screen, or when you and your colleagues are reviewing candidates as a group using a single screen.

Ooh la la, Sonru is available in multiple languages

Last but certainly not least, we have added language options to the application.

  • Yes you can now automatically set the language a candidate uses when you are sending out the Interview and all the communications they receive will be in that language (including the emails, login form and the application itself).
  • We can’t translate the questions or interview details you enter, but you can easily create individual interviews covering any languages you need.
  • We have included Danish and French options with the new release, but we plan to expand the languages available going forward.

We hope you enjoy these new features and the improved Sonru User Interface, which lays the groundwork for further enhancements and features we have planned in future releases. We are always looking for ways to improve the Sonru application, and we appreciate any feedback from users that helps us to do so.
