Jessica Tripp, Nordic Business Development Executive at Sonru, has aided recruiters throughout Denmark, Finland, Norway, Iceland and Sweden to bring their recruitment process to the next level with Video Interviewing. In our latest guest blog post, Jessica gives an insight into the current recruitment challenges faced by recruiters in the Nordics, as well as changing candidate needs. How does Video Interviewing serve both parties when it comes to implementing a well-rounded recruitment process?
In a fast-paced, technology-fuelled world, time truly is of the essence, and it’s no different when it comes to the current HR landscape in the Nordics. Now more than ever, recruitment processes must evolve to cater for the changing needs of HR and recruitment teams, as well as take into consideration the huge importance of the candidate experience. Neither side of the coin can be ignored in order to carry out a truly successful recruitment campaign today.
What Are Recruiters in the Nordics Vying For?
A recent report published by Sympa uncovered that the rating and reporting of candidates as well as conducting interviews were the top two areas that recruiters in the Nordics would like to see becoming more efficient and less time consuming. With technology currently at the forefront of HR processes, there’s no shortage of solutions to ease such burdens that Nordic recruiters are facing.
For recruiters who are in any way familiar with the concept of Video Interviewing, it comes as no great shock that higher efficiencies as well as time and cost savings are two of the most prized benefits offered by the technology. Moreover, the ability to rate candidates’ Video Interviews within the Sonru system to bring forward only suitable candidates to subsequent stages makes for a smoother process overall and eliminates this particular pain point for recruiters in the Nordics, too.
Candidate Experience is Key
Aside from the increasing need for HR processes in the Nordics to welcome technology, candidates’ needs should not be left by the wayside! The candidate experience should, without a doubt, be one of the top priorities for shaping recruitment strategies. For recruiters, they are often surprised at just how well Video Interviewing fits in with the expectations that candidates in the Nordics have around recruitment processes today.
Delving deeper into Video Interview completion in the Nordics, we uncovered that candidates are largely in favour of flexibility, with some interesting findings thrown into the mix, highlighted below.
A Candidate-First Approach
Of the candidates surveyed in the Nordics, choosing the time to complete was the favourite benefit of Video Interviewing that emerged. Going hand in hand with this craving for flexibility, 88% completed their video interview from home, and over one fifth of candidates completed on a mobile device, further highlighting the necessity for recruiters in the Nordics to keep on top of candidates’ need for mobility.
The Rise of Video Interviewing in the Nordics
The future of Video Interviewing in the Nordics doesn’t look so grim, either. Not only is it exceptional to see that 91% of candidates in the Nordics stated that they felt sufficiently informed about the Video Interviewing process before completion, but candidates also boasted a 81% satisfaction rate. Looking towards the future in the ever-changing Nordic HR environment, it appears that Video Interviewing is here to stay, with a whopping 94% of candidates stating that they would complete a Video Interview again in the future.
It’s no secret that employing an approach in your recruitment process that serves both the HR and Recruitment team AND candidates is the ultimate sweet spot when it comes to streamlining in the Nordics. It offers undeniable benefits in positioning an organisation as an employer of choice, further enhancing the chances of success when grappling to reach top talent quicker. When it comes to current HR practices in the Nordics, keeping up with the pace of evolution is an absolute necessity, so it’s a no-brainer when you’re faced with a technology that mitigates the challenges being faced by the recruitment team as well as ticking all the boxes for candidates!
