Sonru client, the NHS Leadership Academy, wins Green Apple Environmental Best Practice award for using video interviewing to connect aspiring CEOs with key stakeholders across the UK.
Competing against more than 500 other nominations in the Green Apple Awards for Environmental Best Practice, the NHS Leadership Academy will be presented with their trophy and certificate at a presentation ceremony in the Houses of Parliament, London on November 11. The award could also enable the NHS Leadership Academy progress to represent the UK in the Green World Awards and the European Business Awards for the Environment.
How the NHS Leadership Academy stood out with Sonru
The Aspiring Chief Executive programme is a collaboration between the NHS Leadership Academy, NHS Improvement and NHS Providers. Designed with national and international experts in health and organisational performance, the yearlong programme offers support and learning to individuals who aspire to be chief executives, supporting them to build their personal resilience, confidence and capability.
The project involved the adoption and use of Asynchronous Video interviewing which enabled both the applicants and multiple interviewers from all over the UK to complete the initial stage of the recruitment process without having to leave their desks.
Commenting on the company’s success, Chris Lake, head of professional development at the Academy, said: “I’m really pleased that the Aspiring Chief Executive programme has been recognised in the Green Apple awards. The programme plays an important role to support those people with the talent to take up chief executive positions and helps to develop them both professionally and personally. Using innovative software like Sonru has provided us with a sustainable alternative to face-to-face interviews, saving us time and resources as well as reducing the negative impact on the environment.”
Daniel Richard, managing director of Sonru Europe, said: “On behalf of Sonru, I’m delighted that the NHS Leadership Academy team have won a prestigious International Green Apple Award For Environmental Best Practice for their pioneering use of video interviewing. Sonru is by its very essence a sustainable alternative to face-to-face interviews built entirely with the aim of removing the adverse environmental effects of people (clients and candidates) travelling to and from preliminary interviews. Our cloud computing model makes a tiny environmental footprint not only by eliminating packaging significantly but in lower energy requirements by using remote cloud based data centres in Europe, Asia and the USA. It’s wonderful to see our clients get the recognition they deserve for choosing sustainable alternatives by reinventing and modernising an age-old recruitment process.”
